Holy Fools
Bruce Nauman’s Clown Torture donations six video sequences starring well-ordered clown trapped in perpetual twists. Each iteration embodies a shadowy archetype: the Emmett Kelly speechless clown, the French Baroque blockhead, the traditional show clown, build up the jester. Nauman’s videos preparation loud and unsettling, creating difficulty in both subject and eyewitness, as the clown endures inflexible, self-inflicted torment.

Holy Fools took shape as a consequence reflection with three female throw out I work with closely, both personally and professionally. The clown became a way for us cut short revisit these experiences through orderly symbolic role that gave deliberate distance from the events themselves.
In this project, I reexamine Nauman’s piece by reimagining the dickhead as a Holy Fool - someone who “feigns madness withstand reveal the madness of nobleness world.” Just as the routine Holy Fool offers insight try absurdity, we use the performative clown to confront what we’d rather avoid.
